I started out my design career as a commercial textile designer. After moving on to manage a home furnishings showroom in San Francisco I began to design the homes of our clients. Our showroom carried a stylistically diverse array of internationally sourced furnishings. We attracted customers from all over the world who were settling into new homes in the Bay Area. I learned to quickly assess the needs of each client and translate that into a cohesive design plan for their home.
After having my two daughters I wanted to spend more time with them and implemented a move to Sonoma, where garden design became my passion. Once my girls began to move out on their own I moved on to managing the renovation of my own real estate investment properties. It is something that I really enjoy as it brings together all of my previous experience under one roof, so to speak. I also act as a consultant on design/renovation projects for clients.
A logical extension of those projects was my home staging business. I am an inveterate shopper and efficient at sourcing materials. I loved the rush of jumping into a new project and pulling it all together on the fly.
My latest projects have been in Micro-Retail. My current passion is my Eco Friendly Paint and Wallpaper shop at Antiques on Second in Napa and soon to be online as well. Sourcing Vintage and Antique Home Furnishings and upcycling them with No VOC paints and wallpapers for children’s rooms is a sustainable and economical win for everyone. I believe that children deserve safe, creative and inspiring environments to call their own.
